The Telecom Minister of India said on July 25, 2011 that the Indian government prepares to announce new telecom policy by October this year, according to the Wall Street Journal. The new telecom policy is slated to be approved by September and announced by October 2011. It is reported that the new telecom policy will cover issues including licensing, pricing, spectrum allocation, service launch, and mergers and acquisitions.
